The 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson built upon the momentum it garnered during its inaugural year at TPC Craig Ranch in 2021 creating another world-class event. A sell-out crowd watched K.H. Lee defend his title and once again raise the crystal trophy. Additionally, Lee adorned a custom-made cowboy hat, created by McKinney Hat Co. and Stetson USA to celebrate his milestone victory.

In addition to building the excitement on the course, the tournament leveraged its spot on the calendar amplifying the work of Momentous Institute as it celebrated Mental Health Awareness Month. Implementing a new program called Birdies for Mental Health, fans from around the country made contributions -- based on the number of birdies made during the tournament -- that were donated to Momentous Institute’s programs. K.H. Lee, Jordan Spieth, Scottie Scheffler, and the rest of the field did their part by making 2,228 birdies over four days, helping raise more than $100,000.

The tournament’s title sponsor, AT&T, continued to raise awareness of Momentous Institute’s mission around education and donated $2,500 for every birdie made on the 17th hole in its Birdies for Students campaign to provide the technology necessary for every student to succeed.

The AT&T Byron Nelson continued its commitment to become active, engaged members of the community, partnering with several local organizations, including McKinney ISD, Collin County Master Gardeners Association, Hugs Café, Mission Reagan, McKinney Library, Spruce Dawg Alumni group, Leia’s Kids, and many more. More than two 53-foot trucks of surplus food items were donated to local food pantries, including Minnie’s Food Pantry, Collin County Master Gardeners Association, and Chefs for Pantry’s.

After a year with limited attendance, it was heartwarming to have the tournament once again operating with a full capacity of supporters and fans, and even more importantly, sharing once again just how the AT&T Byron Nelson is #morethanagame. The success that was so evident this year will be felt long after the last putt fell, as the financial results of the tournament will continue to fortify Momentous Institute, its programs, and mission that all children can become changemakers. For that, the Salesmanship Club of Dallas remains grateful for the commitment of all who aided in this year’s success. Together, we continue to change the odds for children.
