There are two things that come up a lot during winter: food and gratitude. This time of year, we find ourselves dusting off our favorite recipes, and as the end of the year draws near, we often reflect on things we are grateful for. With this in mind, we thought it would be fun to combine these two things into an activity that families can do together when kids are home from school for winter break.

This activity has you take a favorite family recipe and think about all the people who make it possible for you to make this recipe at home – from the person who created the recipe to the people who stocked the groceries in the store and everyone in between.  Thinking about all these people can help kids learn that they can be grateful for others and the work they do that directly and indirectly impacts them.
