As parents, we’ve all been there. You’re cruising along, everything is fine, and then BAM. A situation hits you and you have no idea how to respond. When the kids are younger, it might be something like the first time your child lies to you. As they get older, it might be when your kid starts asking for his own cell phone. Maybe you’re not sure how to explain your divorce to your kids. In our therapy program at Momentous Institute, we get many of these questions time and time again. One thing we know is that the issue that’s stumping you is probably stumping others too.
We are going to dive into a new feature here on the blog. This series will be called “I’m Stumped”. We plan to address these common parenting dilemmas. Therapists from across our staff will weigh in on our tips and tricks for surviving – and dare we say it – thriving during some of the trickiest parts of parenting. Do you have a parenting dilemma? Leave it in the comments or email us at mfernandez@momentousinstitute.org and we will try our best to answer it.
