Self Care Snowflakes

Winter break is an exciting time. There are holiday activities, family time and NO SCHOOL! However, it is also a good time for children to take some time to recharge their batteries. Everyone needs to practice self-care, including kids.

We have created a simple self-care based activity that will guide kids through practicing self-care tasks. These are tasks that can help them recharge during their winter break.

Self-Care Snowflakes Activity

What You Need:

1 Handout per child (download here)

Markers, crayons or colored pencils

Instructions

Explain to children what self-care is and why it is important.

Example: “Self-care is taking steps to care for your physical and mental health. It is important that we practice self-care so that we know we are doing our best to take care of ourselves.”

Give each child a handout and explain that the handout features different self-care tasks that they can do during the winter break. When they finish a task, they should color in the snowflake. Remind students that they should reflect on how the completing the tasks made them feel in the area at the bottom of their worksheet.
