Join us for our 10th annual Changing the Odds conference on September 29-30, 2022 at the Omni Dallas. We look forward to exploring the theme of COURAGE as we hear from a lineup of speakers who will help us learn how to be courageous leaders and to foster courage in children, families, and communities. Join educators, administrators, decision makers, mental health professionals and all those who are committed to changing the odds for all children.

Ruby Bridges advanced the cause of civil rights in 1960 at the age of six when she became the first African American student to integrate an elementary school in the South. A lifelong activist for racial equality, she established The Ruby Bridges Foundation to create change through education.
Cynt Marshall currently leads the Dallas Mavericks as CEO after spending over 36 years as a force for diversity and inclusion with AT&T. In 2021, Forbes named Cynt one of 15 of the world's most inspiring female leaders.
Brittany K. Barnett is an award-winning attorney dedicated to transforming the justice system and has won freedom for many serving death sentences. Brittany is founder of the Buried Alive Project and Girls Embracing Mothers. Her memoir, Knock at Midnight, was named as Amazon’s #1 book of 2020.
Sharanda Jones is an entrepreneur and criminal justice advocate. Sentenced in 1999 to mandatory life without parole for her minor role in a federal drug offense, she served 16 years in prison and made a positive impact in those around her. Sharanda is the co-founder of the Buried Alive Project.
Valarie Kaur is a renowned civil rights leader, lawyer, award-winning filmmaker and best-selling author of See No Love. She leads the Revolutionary Love Project to reclaim love as a force for justice and works to equip advocates at the intersection of spirituality, storytelling, and justice.
Jerry Tello is an international expert in transformational healing and community peace. He is co-founder of the National Compadres Network and author of Recovering Your Sacredness, A Father’s Love. In 2016, Jerry was awarded with Maria Shriver’s Annual Advocate for Change award.

Changing the Odds audience generally consists of educators, mental health professionals and those within the non-profit community.

What is the cost of the conference?

The two-day event costs $695 with registration costs beginning at $500 and increasing through the start of the conference. • July 16 - August 31: $600 • September 1 - Conference: $695

Are there CEUs for this event?

Momentous Institute is a licensed provider of CEUs in the state of Texas for LPC, LMFT, and LCSW. And an approved Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Provider in Texas with TEA (#902-493). Participants will receive CEU credits for the two-day conference.
