Dallas, Texas, Sept. 7, 2017 – Guy Kerr has been elected president of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, the nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming kids’ lives since 1920. He is the 98th president of the organization, which owns and operates Momentous Institute and hosts the AT&T Byron Nelson. The annual PGA TOUR event is Momentous Institute’s primary fundraiser.
“The year ahead for the Salesmanship Club promises to be exciting, historic and immensely fulfilling as we transition the AT&T Byron Nelson to Trinity Forest Golf Club in Southern Dallas and celebrate the 50th anniversary of the tournament, while we continue to change the odds for thousands of kids and families through the work of our Momentous Institute,” Kerr said.
Kerr, a member of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas since 1989, is Of Counsel in the Dallas office of Locke Lord LLP where he focuses his practice on corporate and securities law. He was previously a partner at the firm for 16 years before serving 14 years as an executive with the media company Belo Corp. Kerr previously served on the Club’s Board of Directors as Chair of the Momentous Institute Board. In addition to his work on the Board, Kerr has held a wide variety of leadership positions for the Club, Momentous Institute and the AT&T Byron Nelson during his 28-year tenure.
The Salesmanship Club president serves a one-year term. In addition to Kerr, six new members were elected to leadership positions on the Salesmanship Club Board of Directors:
