After six years of development and multiple year-long studies in dozens of early childhood schools, Momentous Institute authored Changemakers: A Social Emotional Learning Curriculum!

For decades, educators have asked how to replicate Momentous School practices and outcomes at different locations.

This summer, staff finalized the Changemakers curriculum. Through a trauma and equity lens, this pre-kindergarten 3 through fifth grade curriculum received a distinct honor by being named the CASEL (Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning) Select elementary education program. CASEL Select is a specialized designation offered only to organizations that provide multi-year, well-designed classroom-based programs that are evidence-based and committed to providing high-quality training and ongoing support.

Changemakers aligns with Texas TEKS and is also designated as a Texas Education Agency “Best Practice” for both Grief and Trauma, Building Skills and Managing Emotions. The curriculum includes free-standing lessons and teaching practices to promote social emotional learning in students.
