Anyone who has spent time around a teen lately has probably noticed that they like to spend time on their phones. With the ability to scroll on social media, play games, and watch videos all from one device, it's no wonder they seem to be glued to those tiny screens. However, teens need to be mindful about their phone use.
The myPhone Challenge lesson is designed to get them thinking about how and why they use their phones. It also allows teens to establish boundaries around phone use. Developmentally, teens are at an age where they are ready to take part in the decision-making process and take on more responsibility. Allowing them to think through their phone use and create boundaries gives them autonomy over the process, making them invested in the outcome.
