The 2021 AT&T Byron Nelson teed off at its new home at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, TX, on May 13. Fans watched with excitement as KH Lee raised the trophy 735 days since the last champion did the same. It was the first time in its 53-year history that the AT&T Byron Nelson was hosted outside of Dallas County. Yet, the commitment to change the odds for children through its support of Momentous Institute remained the same.

Alongside the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, title sponsor AT&T and the City of McKinney proved fundamental in recruiting the tournament to TPC Craig Ranch.

AT&T continued its instrumental role in making the tournament a success while also doing even more work behind the scenes to support its beneficiary. With the increased importance of remote learning, AT&T stepped up to provide Momentous School students with Wi-Fi hotspots, delivering on its commitment to help repair the “digital divide.”

The AT&T Byron Nelson staff, Club members and volunteers remained steadfast in its commitment to cultivate long-time partnerships and new friendships. In Southern Dallas, the tournament, once again, hosted its Operation Appreciation event at Cedar Crest Golf Club and continued its work with the Spruce Dogs Alumni group, the First Tee of Greater Dallas, Avery’s popcorn and Trinity Forest Golf Club. The tournament also focused on new, strategic relationships in McKinney, engaging with local nonprofits like Keep McKinney Beautiful, Huggs Café, and the SPCA of Collin County.

While the tournament operated at just 25 percent capacity to adhere to proper COVID health and safety measures, it still achieved its financial goals and helped fortify Momentous Institute’s mental health and education services. The 2022 AT&T Byron Nelson planning is already underway, and we look forward to another great tournament in McKinney. The team at Momentous Institute is grateful for the hard work of so many at this year’s tournament, including 1,250 volunteers, whose unwavering commitment ensures we can drive forward our mission to change the odds for children.
